What it does
A partner deal can look good to you and fail the partner. If a franchisee, reseller or licensee works full time and takes home less than a fair wage, they will leave, cut corners or fail, and your name goes down with them. This skill puts yourself in the partner's seat. It builds their income and costs for one location or one year, adds every fee you charge (a start-up fee, a share of sales, a markup on supplies, required equipment, advertising), and shows what is left. It then tests the same sums at sales a fifth lower than you forecast. It compares what is left with a fair wage for the hours the partner will work, and with what they could earn elsewhere. The call is fair, thin or unfair, with the one change that helps most.
You give it
- Your offer and every fee, required purchase and cost the partner pays you or others you require
- The partner's expected sales, costs and hours worked
- What a similar person could earn instead (optional)
- Plan (optional)
You get
- The partner's income, costs and what is left, in one table
- The same table at weaker sales
- What the partner earns per hour worked, set against a fair wage
- A call of fair, thin or unfair, and the one change that helps most
Use it when
- You are about to offer a franchise, reseller or licence deal and have not run the partner's numbers.
- Partners are leaving or struggling and you are not sure if your fees are the reason.
- A partner says the deal does not work and you need to see if they are right.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- List every payment from the partner to you, and every purchase you require them to make.
- Give expected sales and costs for one location or one year, and how many hours the partner will work.
- Read the call and the one change first. Then test the change in the table.
- Bring the result to "Franchise and reseller terms writer".
