What it does
When you have a list of cases and a hunch about what drives them, it is tempting to jump to a story. A story fits what you have seen and fails on the next case. A rule you can test is worth more: it says what should happen next, and whether it did. This skill writes the cases out one per line, then looks at the differences between them, and the differences of those. It guesses a rule and writes it as one line. It tests the rule on cases you kept back, states how far off it is where it is only close, and asks for the whole list of cases that fit, not just one answer. Every result is sorted into known, new or doubtful, and the doubtful ones go to a checker.
You give it
- Your cases in order, one per line, with the value you care about
- Ten or twenty cases at least, and a few more you are willing to hold back
- What each case column means (optional)
- The pattern you think you see (optional)
You get
- The cases rewritten line by line, with the differences between them
- A rule in one line, and the cases it fits
- A test on cases kept back, with the size of the error
- A sorted list: known, new and doubtful, ready to pass to a checker
Use it when
- You have a list of results and want to know if there is a rule behind them.
- You think you have spotted a pattern but have not tested it on new data.
- You need a forecast rule that is simple enough to explain and check.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your cases in order. Tell it which ones to keep back, or let it hold back the last few.
- If it asks what a column means, answer in a few words.
- Read the rule and the error before you trust it.
- Send the doubtful list to a person or a tool that can check it.
