What it does
Every project hits a low point where the work gets harder and the results slow down. Sometimes that is a dip: a stretch that ends if you keep going, and that scares off most of your rivals. Sometimes it is a dead end, where more effort changes nothing. From inside, the two feel the same, so people quit good projects and cling to bad ones. This skill asks for the facts of the project, checks whether past effort has made the results better, and tests whether pushing through would put you among the best at something worth being best at. It marks which of your reasons are evidence and which are fear or a wish to compromise. Then it gives one call, a date, and a way out with no guilt if the answer is to stop.
You give it
- The project and what you want from it
- How long it has run and what has got harder
- Your numbers or signs of progress over time (optional)
- What a win would look like (optional)
You get
- A clear call: push through, change course or stop
- Your reasons split into evidence and fear
- A date to check again, and one hard step if you push on
- A plan to quit without guilt, if the call is to stop
Use it when
- You have worked on something for months and every week feels harder.
- You are tempted to quit but cannot tell if it is wisdom or fear.
- You are keeping a project alive only because you have already put so much in.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Describe the project, how long it has run and what has got harder. Include real numbers if you have them.
- Say what "best" would mean in this field and who the best are.
- Read the call, then the evidence list, before you decide.
- Put the check date in your calendar.
