What it does
A claim that is repeated often feels true. Vendors, studies and viral numbers all come dressed in labels, case studies and profit measures that make the sums hard to see. This skill states the claim exactly, asks for independent confirmation and compares at least two other explanations. It tries to knock down your favourite, names the result that would prove the claim wrong and restates the claim with no labels. It checks a company's label against how it earns money and looks for invented profit measures. It then sets how much evidence a claim this surprising needs and points each red flag at a line in the source.
You give it
- The claim as it was made, with its source
- Any figures or study that came with it (optional)
- The decision it affects (optional)
- A draft (optional)
You get
- A table of who has confirmed it, and how independent they are
- Other explanations, compared
- The result that would prove it wrong
- Red flags tied to lines in the source, and the evidence that would be enough
Use it when
- A vendor says their tool will double your results.
- A study or number is going around and you want to know if it holds.
- A founder's pitch uses a profit measure you do not recognise.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the claim word for word with the source.
- Add the numbers or deck that came with it.
- Read the explanations and add any you can think of.
- Ask the source for the evidence the report says is missing.
