What it does
A unit plan built around one real event or puzzle that no single subject can explain alone, so each subject has to contribute. It follows the phenomenon approach from the Finnish national curriculum. You name something like water quality in a local river. The skill maps what science, geography, maths and civics each add, marks the points where they must connect, and lays out a pathway students follow as they ask and answer their own questions. It ends with an assessment that tests combined understanding. The aim is real integration, not subjects stitched together by the teacher. It suits teachers planning cross-subject work.
