What it does
A page can have good words and still be hard to read: type too small, lines too long, headings that look like body text, grey on white. The fixes are known, but advice that says "use more white space" teaches nothing, so the same fault comes back on the next page. This skill starts with the message in one plain sentence. It asks what the typeface says about that message and who it is for. It checks size, line length, spacing and contrast for a tired reader in poor light, and how paragraphs and headings are ordered and held by a grid. It names who the page leaves out and how to include them. Every fix comes with its reason, and a small exercise lets you practise it.
You give it
- The page text, or a screenshot or PDF
- Where and by whom it is read, such as phones in a queue or print in a clinic
- Your fonts, sizes and colours if known (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- The message in one sentence
- A check of type, size, line length, spacing, contrast and grid, each with a verdict
- Who the page leaves out and how to include them
- Fixes, each with a reason, and a small practice exercise
- A score out of 100, with how it was worked out
Use it when
- You have a page, handout, slide or screen and want to know why it is tiring to read.
- You are choosing type and spacing and want reasons, not rules of thumb.
- You want to check that your page works for readers with poor eyesight or little time.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Attach the page, or paste the text and list the fonts, sizes and colours.
- Say where it is read, on what device and by whom.
- Fix the highest-impact problems first, then run it again.
- Do the practice exercise on your next page.
