What it does
Working checkout code for the change you want, such as a gift note field, a post-purchase upsell or a rule that blocks bad orders. It stays safe when Shopify updates checkout. It picks the right extension type: checkout screen add-ons, post-purchase offers, customer account pages, thank-you page and order status changes. It scaffolds the extension with the Shopify CLI, writes the interface code, wires in custom fields, and adds validation rules where you need them. Extensions run in a sandbox, so they keep working with Shop Pay and new features. You need the Shopify CLI, a Partner account, and Shopify Plus or checkout extensibility.
