AI Blocks › Build and ship software
Simple code coach
Write code with it. Get assumptions stated, the smallest change made and only what you asked for.
Simple code coach is a free AI skill for the job "Build and ship software". Give the instructions to an AI assistant that supports the required files and tools, then review its output.

What it does
Code changes that are small, tied to your request and checked against clear goals, instead of large rewrites you did not ask for. It targets the usual AI coding habits: silent guesses, bloat and drive-by edits. It works on four rules. First, think before coding: state assumptions, list other readings of the request and ask when unclear. Second, keep it simple: no extras, no one-use abstractions. Third, make surgical changes that touch only what the task needs. Fourth, turn the task into a goal with a test that proves it. It also ships Python tools that scan a change for breaches of these rules.
You give it
- The coding task
- Your code or a diff
- Python available to run the checker tools (optional)
You get
- Stated assumptions and questions
- The smallest working change
- A success test for the task
- A check of the diff against the four rules
Use it when
- The AI keeps rewriting files when you wanted one fix.
- You want assumptions stated before it starts coding.
- You review a diff and suspect it added more than needed.
- You want a clear pass or fail test for a task.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code and read your project files.
