What it does
A broad standard turned into criteria a student can check themselves against. Instead of 'analyses language', you get the small skills inside it and what each looks like in work. Paste the standard or competency descriptor, plus the level and subject. The skill breaks it into observable indicators, the things you can actually see a student do. It lists the knowledge and skills needed first, notes the usual misconceptions, and writes success criteria in student-friendly words. It finishes with what the breakdown means for how you teach. The worked example covers analysing a writer's language and structure.
You give it

- What the criteria are for, such as a task or a report (optional)
You get

Use it when
- The curriculum gives you a vague standard and you must write lesson goals.
- Students do not know what good work looks like.
- You plan a unit and need to see the skills hidden inside one outcome.
- You want criteria to share with students before they start.
How to use it
