What it does
Most quarterly reviews drift. The old plan is half remembered, wins are counted by effort, and every project is carried into the next quarter because nobody wants to cut it. The same list of ten things returns each time. This agent runs the review the same way every quarter and compares with the last one. It scores each goal against its target, shows the sums, and checks what last quarter's decisions did to the numbers. Each project gets keep, change or cut. If the main goal was missed by a wide margin, or two quarters running, it asks the harder question about the direction. If you have too many projects, it helps you say no. Then it writes next quarter's goals and checks them by working back from the end date. It hands you a list of decisions to approve and does not act on any of them.
You give it
- Last quarter's plan, with goals, projects, key results and dates
- This quarter's results for each, with numbers
- What changed, such as the market, the team or a lost customer (optional)
- Your question (optional)
- Competitors (optional)
You get
- Each goal scored against its target, with the sums
- What last quarter's decisions did to the numbers
- A keep, change or cut call for every project, with the reason
- A harder look at the direction, only when the numbers call for it
- Next quarter's goals with dated key results, and a list of decisions for you to approve
Use it when
- It is the end of the quarter and you want a review you can compare with the last one.
- You keep carrying the same projects forward and want an honest keep, change or cut.
- You missed your main goal and want to know if the plan or the direction is the problem.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the agent. In Claude Code, add it as a skill or save it in .claude/agents, then give it your plan and results.
- The first time, write down last quarter's goals as you remember them. The agent saves them.
- Read the keep, change or cut calls first. Argue with any you disagree with, using the numbers.
- Say yes or no to each decision on the list. It records only the ones you approve.
- Run it again in the last week of next quarter. It compares with this one.
