What it does
Some marketing moves work in the short term and do the opposite later. A sale lifts sales this month and teaches buyers to wait for the next one. A new product under a known name adds sales now and blurs what the name means. Because the harm arrives slowly, quarterly numbers hide it. This skill lists every tactic in the plan and writes both effects. For any discount it works out the sum: what you gained during, what you lost after, and whether the net is positive. It tells a fad from a trend, because a fad is loud and fast and a trend is quiet and slow, and a plan that treats a fad as a trend leaves you with costs you can't carry. It also finds forecasts hiding in the plan, and press excitement that has nothing to do with sales.
You give it
- Your marketing plan
- Sales before, during and after any past discount (optional)
- Fixed costs you would add to meet new demand (optional)
You get
- Each tactic with its short-term and long-term effect
- A net sum for each discount
- A fad or trend call for each bet, with how to dampen or ride it
- Forecasts in the plan, and what you do if each is wrong
- A list of changes
Use it when
- Your plan leans on sales, coupons or limited offers to hit a number.
- A hot product or trend is pulling you to scale up fast.
- You are about to put your name on a new product because it will sell now.
- Your plan rests on a three-year forecast or on a wave of press.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the plan. Add sales figures for the weeks before, during and after your last discount if you have them.
- Read the net sums first. A discount with a net below zero is a habit, not a growth tactic.
- Take the changes into your plan. Then run "One bold move picker" to choose what to back.
