What it does
The email you write while angry is accurate and useless. The reader gets defensive, replies to the tone instead of the problem, and the fix takes a week longer. You still need the thing done, and you often still need the person next month. This prompt follows the rules Dale Carnegie set out in public for getting people to help you. It separates the facts from the heat and keeps only the facts. It works out what the reader wants from this, owns your part first if there is one, states what happened with dates and no verdict, and asks for one fix by one date in a way that lets them save face. You also get a firmer follow-up for when nothing happens, still free of threats you cannot keep.
You give it
- The email you wrote
- What you need from them
- The facts with dates (advised)
- Who they are and whether you need them again (optional)
You get
- The facts and the heat, separated
- The rewritten email with one request and one date
- A firmer follow-up for if they do nothing
- Missing facts marked
Use it when
- A supplier shipped late again and you need the next order on time.
- A client changed the brief twice and is now blaming you for the delay.
- You wrote the email at 11pm and something tells you not to send it yet.
How to use it
- Copy the prompt, then paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini with your email under it.
- Add the dates and amounts if your draft only has feelings.
- Read HEAT REMOVED first. If a line there is a fact, tell the AI and run it again.
- Send the email. Put the follow-up date in your calendar.
