What it does
A good email can fail because of its layout. The button sits far down the page, the copy is a wall of text, or a designer reshuffles the sections. Most readers skim and many never scroll, so the top of the email has to work on its own. This skill turns your copy into a layout brief. It puts the headline, short copy and a large button at the top, adds a short section that backs up the claim, repeats the button after every section and ends with a footer. Then it plans the build: what to design in Figma, what to slice into images, and what must stay live in your email tool, such as product blocks and the unsubscribe footer.
You give it
- Your email goal and offer, plus the copy if you have it
- The hero image or product to feature
- Brand colours and fonts (optional)
- A screenshot of an email layout you like (optional)
- Your proof, such as reviews and ratings (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
- Image (optional)
You get
- A layout table with one row per block, in order, with what each block holds
- The headline, body and button text for each block
- A build and export plan: what to design, slice, compress and keep live
- Notes you can reuse as a template for the next email
Use it when
- You have the copy for a campaign email and need a designer or your own design tool to build it.
- Your emails get opens but few clicks, and the first button sits far down the page.
- You like a competitor's email layout and want your own version with your own words.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your goal, offer and copy. Attach a competitor email you like, if you have one.
- Check the top block first. A reader should see the headline, the point and a button without scrolling.
- Send the layout table to your designer as it is. The order is part of the brief.
- When the email is built, send yourself a test and click every link on a phone and a computer.
