What it does
People reach for AI on problems it cannot help, and miss problems where it could. A chat model is not the right tool for every task, and a model with no data or no way to score answers cannot learn anything. This skill asks three questions: are there too many possible answers to try one by one, is there structure a model could learn, and is there a clear score to aim at. It then checks the data you have, or a simulator that could make more, and names an outside test to judge the result. You get a verdict and the smallest proof to try first.
You give it
- The problem and the goal it serves
- Data, past attempts or tools you have (optional)
- How you would know it worked (optional)
You get
- Yes, no or unsure for each of three tests, with reasons
- A data or simulator plan
- An outside test that is not your own opinion
- A verdict and the first small proof
Use it when
- A team wants to use AI on a problem and nobody has checked if it fits.
- You have a hard problem and wonder if a model could help.
- You need to explain to a boss why a project should or should not use AI.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Describe the problem and what you want from it.
- Answer its questions about data and scoring.
- Run the first small proof before any bigger spend.
