What it does
Many Amazon products fail for reasons you can see before you buy stock: a price too low for the fees, a page 1 where every seller charges about the same, a gated category, or a first order that eats all your cash. A wrong pick costs thousands. This skill scores one idea against rules from two working sellers. It checks price band, margin, how many ways buyers search, price spread, weak page 1 listings, brand giants, shipping risk, seasonality, gates and how you would stand out. Any restricted category, fad item or cash gap is a hard stop, whatever the score. The point weights are ours, since the sources give rules, not points, and the score says how it was worked out. It ends with the cheapest test to run before you order.
You give it
- Your product idea, planned price and category
- Landed cost per unit (product, freight, duties, taxes), plus size and weight
- Page 1 results with prices, review counts and ratings
- Monthly search volume, and how many different phrases describe the product
- The cash you could lose on the first order and ads
- Store capture (optional)
- Spreadsheet (optional)
You get
- A score out of 100, with the points for each of the ten tests and how it was worked out
- Any hard stop that ends the idea, and the weakest test
- A go, test first or no-go call, and the cheapest next test
Use it when
- You have a product idea for Amazon and are about to ask a supplier for a quote.
- You have two or three ideas and need to know which one to test first.
- You found a product in a research tool and want a second opinion before you spend.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your idea, price, landed cost, size and weight, and your cash.
- Paste page 1 for your main search phrase, with prices, review counts and ratings. Add research tool figures if you have them.
- Read the hard stops first, then the weakest test. Fix what can be fixed and run the score again.
- Before you order stock, run the cheapest test it names, and check the trademark.
