What it does
A product requirements document built from the code you already have. It is written in plain business language, yet detailed enough for an engineer or an AI agent to rebuild each page and endpoint. It works in three passes: a scan of the whole project, a page-by-page look at routes, components, models and APIs, then a structured write-up. It reads React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, Django, FastAPI, NestJS and others. It separates real API calls from mock data, lists every status code and constant, and pulls out data models. Two Python scripts help with scanning and folder setup, and a checklist tests the result for gaps.
You give it
- A codebase, front end, back end or both
- Python to run the helper scripts
- Pages to focus on (optional)
You get
- A requirements document
- Page and endpoint descriptions
- Data model and status code lists
- Real versus mock API notes
Use it when
- You inherited an app with no documentation.
- You want to rebuild a product on a new stack.
- A stakeholder needs to see what the app does without reading code.
- You must hand an AI agent a spec of an existing product.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can read your project files.
