What it does
A short product requirements document your team can read in a few minutes and start work from. It is built to help people decide, not to fill pages. Claude writes eight parts: summary, contacts, background, objective, market segments, value propositions, solution and release. Value is stated in a six-part jobs-to-be-done format. It targets one to two pages, about 600 to 1,000 words, and a section with little to say gets a line or two. It only fills gaps that would block a decision on the first version. Ask for a fuller spec if you need one.
You give it
- A description of the product or feature
- The problem and who has it
- Known constraints or deadlines (optional)
- Notes or research you already have (optional)
You get
- A lean eight-section PRD
- Value propositions in jobs-to-be-done form
- An objective and release plan
- A list of open questions that block decisions
Use it when
- You are about to start a feature and need agreement on what to build.
- Engineers and designers need a brief to start from.
- Leaders want a one-page case before they approve work.
- You have notes and need them shaped into a PRD.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
