What it does
When you hand a draft to friends and ask what they think, you get kind noises. Nobody wants to hurt you, and they do not know what to look for. A few good questions fix that. They turn a general opinion into facts about where the draft worked and where it did not. This skill builds the sheet. First it names your ideal reader: the one person you are writing for and most want to move, and what you want them to feel. Then it writes the questions every reader gets, such as where they put it down and what they did not follow. It adds one question for each part you doubt, a request to flag facts that look wrong, and a rule that readers say nothing until you ask. Short sheets get answered.
