What it does
Telling a room that disagrees with you that they are wrong makes them defend their view harder. Telling them all the facts at once lets them dismiss the lot. A speech that moves a hostile crowd does it in a set order. This skill states the room's belief fairly, opens with a request for a hearing and honest agreement, and repeats the phrase they trust while testing it with facts. It holds back your strongest fact until the room asks, then shows the evidence in steps, and adds one real object that makes it personal. It ends on a single action. It also reads each line aloud for the ear. Everything must be true and sourced.
You give it
- Who is in the room and what they believe
- What you want them to do
- The facts you can back, with sources
- A profile of the room, such as past quotes or votes (optional)
- The setting and time you have (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
- A buyer brief (optional)
You get
- The room's belief written fairly
- A speech planned from agreement to action
- The strongest fact marked, with the line that draws it out
- One object and one next step
Use it when
- You must present a plan to people who have already said they oppose it.
- A decision has upset a group and you must speak to them next week.
- You are asking a client, board or crowd to change course on something they care about.
How to use it
