What it does
A first read of a demand letter you received: what they claim, how strong it looks, and your options for answering. It is a starting point for talking to a lawyer, not legal advice. The skill reads the letter and pulls out the sender, the claims, the amounts and the deadline. It checks your matter log for related cases with the same party. It then rates the claim's merit using your own risk settings and gives choices such as ignore, reply, counter, negotiate or escalate, with a recommended one. The result is saved as a triage file. You can then open a case, draft a counter-demand or link it to an existing matter.
You give it
- The demand letter file
- Your matter log and risk settings, if set up (optional)
- Background on the sender (optional)
You get
- Extracted claims, amounts and deadline
- A check against related matters
- A merit rating
- Response options with a recommendation
- A saved triage note
Use it when
- A letter arrived threatening a claim and you need to understand it fast.
- You want to see if the sender has contacted you before.
- You need a deadline and options before calling a lawyer.
- Your team gets many demand letters and needs one method.
- You want the letter turned into a case file in one step.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can read your saved legal setup notes and your files.
- Where the skill points to /litigation-legal:cold-start-interview, use the setup-interview folder inside it. We copied it in so the skill works on its own.
