What it does
Most stores watch total revenue and platform ROAS. Both flatter you. Returning customers lift total revenue even when new customers are getting harder to win. In one source's example, MER (revenue divided by ad spend) rose from 4 to 5 while new-customer MER (new-customer revenue divided by ad spend) fell from 2 to 1.8 to 1.6. Returning revenue propped it up, and spending more made new acquisition worse. This skill builds a small dashboard around new customers. It uses net revenue after returns, CAC as total ad spend divided by new customers (not the platform's number), profit contribution, and new-customer profit contribution. It keeps to few, clear metrics. It does not add more attribution tools. It tells you which actions suit your revenue band and which cost data is missing.
You give it
- Shopify orders with a new or returning flag
- Cost of goods per product
- Ad spend by day
- Net revenue after returns
- Gross profit by cohort at 30, 90 and 180 days, if you have it (optional)
You get
- A one-page dashboard layout with sheet formulas
- A daily headline row, each metric defined
- A reading rule for each metric
- The 180-day profit to CAC band
- A list of cost gaps to fix in the store admin
Use it when
- Total revenue looks fine but ad spend keeps climbing.
- You want one daily page a team can read in a minute.
- Your product costs are not all tagged in Shopify and margin is a guess.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Attach your order export and daily ad spend, and paste your cost of goods per product.
- Tell it your yearly revenue band so it can give the right action list.
- Paste the formulas into a sheet and fill a week of data to check the numbers against your own.
- Fix the cost gaps it lists in Shopify before you rely on the margin lines.
