What it does
Prices are often set by habit: what the last supplier charged, what a rival charges, what the quote said. The total can sit far above what the raw inputs cost. The gap may be fair (labour, scale, risk, margin) or it may be an old habit nobody has questioned. This skill starts from what the thing is physically made of, or the steps that make it. It prices each raw input from open sources, adds them up and compares the result with the price. It marks where the gap is largest and asks why it exists: scale, habit, margin or a real limit. It then suggests two moves to close the biggest gap: make it yourself, buy elsewhere or redesign. Every number carries a source or is marked as an estimate.
You give it
- The thing you buy or sell, and the price you pay or charge (required)
- Product facts such as size, materials, volume (optional)
- Your quantity per month or year (optional)
- Any supplier quote or invoice (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- A table of raw inputs or steps with a cost and source for each
- The raw cost total and the gap to the price paid, as a number
- The biggest gaps with a reason for each, from scale, habit, margin or a real limit
- Two ranked moves to close the biggest gap
Use it when
- A supplier quote or a monthly bill keeps rising and you do not know if it is fair.
- You are pricing a new product and want to know how much of your price is real cost.
- You are choosing between buying, making or redesigning something you use a lot.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Name the thing, the price and how much you buy or sell. Paste any quote you have.
- If your AI can search, ask it to use open sources for raw prices. If not, add prices you know.
- Check every line marked as an estimate with a real quote before you act.
- Pick one move and test it on a small order.
