What it does
Everything needed to ship a version in one pass: the number bumped, the changelog written and a tagged release ready to publish. You skip the manual file editing that people forget. It looks at your project and finds the version file by itself, whether that is package.json, pyproject.toml, Cargo.toml or a plain version file. It reads the commits since the last tag, suggests a major, minor or patch bump, and asks you to confirm. Then it updates the files, writes the changelog and creates the tag. A dry run shows the changes first. It can also add missing GitHub release pages for old tags, and handle changelogs in more than one language.
You give it
- Your project folder
- Bump type to force (optional)
- Confirmation of the suggested version
- Changelog languages (optional)
You get
- Updated version files
- Written changelog entry
- Tagged release
- Preview of changes in dry run
Use it when
- You are ready to publish a new version and want the steps done right.
- Your project has several files that all hold the version number.
- Old tags have no GitHub release pages.
- You want to preview a release before anything changes.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code and read your project files.
