What it does
Most owners name one advantage and stop. That hides two problems. The advantage may be weaker than it feels, and a stronger one may be sitting unused in the same business. This skill sets the same two tests against each of the seven powers. The benefit test asks what the business gets that a typical rival does not, in price, cost or margin. The barrier test asks what stops a rival taking it. Each power is scored from none to proven, and each score points at a fact you gave it. A power with no fact behind it scores as a claim, not as a power. The result sorts the seven into held, buildable and out of reach.
You give it
- What the business sells, to whom, and the price and cost per sale
- The result of a first power test, if you have one
- Your main rivals and what they do better or worse than you (optional)
- Your question (optional)
You get
- Seven rows, one per power, each with a benefit line, a barrier line and the fact behind them
- A score for each power from 0 to 3, with a reason
- The powers sorted into held, buildable and out of reach
- The facts still missing, listed so you can go and find them
Use it when
- You believe you have a moat but can only name a list of strengths.
- You named one advantage and want to check the other six before you put money behind it.
- A backer, partner or buyer asked what protects your margin and you had no clear answer.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your business facts. If you ran "Business power tester" first, paste its result too.
- Add real numbers where you have them, such as prices, unit costs, churn and repeat rate.
- Read the held and buildable lists first. Then go and find each fact it marked as missing.
- Bring the result to "Ten-year durability checker" and "Power build-order planner".
