What it does
A team structure designed for fast delivery, with clear owners and a set way for teams to work together. You find out where teams are overloaded, where work bounces between groups and what to change, scored out of ten. The skill uses Team Topologies. It sorts teams into four types: stream-aligned, platform, enabling and complicated subsystem. It applies Conway's law, which says systems copy the way teams talk, so a bad structure produces a tangled product. It checks each team's cognitive load and assigns an interaction mode: collaboration, service or coaching. It then rates your design, lists the changes needed to reach ten, and suggests an order for the reorganisation.
You give it
- Your current teams and what each owns
- The product or system they work on
- Pain points such as delays or handoffs
- Team sizes (optional)
You get
- Each team labelled by type
- Interaction modes between teams
- Overload and boundary problems
- A score and steps to improve it
Use it when
- Every change needs sign off from three different teams.
- One team owns too much and is always behind.
- You are planning a reorganisation and want a sound basis.
- Your architecture mirrors an org chart you dislike.
- A platform team exists but other teams avoid using it.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
