What it does
Teams that work hard without one number tend to drift. Every task feels useful, so nothing gets cut. Growth that looks good one week may be a one-off spike that never repeats. This skill picks one measure of real use, with revenue first and active users as a stand-in. It works out your weekly growth rate over the last several weeks, ignoring one-off spikes, then sets a target rate and shows what it adds up to over a year. Each task on your list is checked against the number, and any task that does not help it is marked skip. It repeats each week and changes the work if the rate falls.
You give it
- Weekly figures for revenue or active users, ideally six weeks or more
- A note on any one-off event that moved a week, such as a sale or a press mention
- Your task list for this week
- What your team can spend (optional)
You get
- The one measure it picked and why
- Your recent weekly growth rate, worked out in the open
- A target rate, with what it adds up to in a year
- Each task marked do, defer or skip, with a reason
Use it when
- You work all week but cannot say whether the business grew.
- Your task list is long and everything feels urgent.
- You want a simple target that your whole team can read.
