What it does
Most talks start with background. You have notes and facts but no way in, so you explain first and hope the room cares later. The room checks out before you reach the point. The steps give you a way in and then move it to the front. First it picks the one case that holds your idea, tests what everyone assumes and finds a case that cuts the other way. Next it builds a pitch around that case: how each person in the room will react, a story under two minutes and a picture of ordinary life after the change. Last it finds the news the room will care about most, puts it in the opening with one true clock, and marks the slides that only explain.
You give it
- Your topic and your notes, facts, quotes, names, dates
- Who is in the room and how long you have
- What you want them to decide or do at the end
- Customer or interview words on the topic (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
- Customer words (optional)
- A draft (optional)
You get
- One case to build on, the common view it questions and a case that cuts the other way
- A story under two minutes, a vision of life after the change and small ways to test the idea
- A new running order with the stakes in the first minute, one real clock and the explaining slides marked
Use it when
- You must pitch an idea to people who do not see it yet.
- You have a pile of notes and no clear way into the talk.
- Your talk is accurate but dull, and the point comes too late.
Steps
- Case study story planner: Give it your topic and notes. Get the one case to build on, the surprise underneath and an outline.
- Internal proposal pitch planner: Paste your idea and the people who must say yes. Get a story, a vision picture and a plan through four stages.
- Speech tension planner: Paste your talk or pitch outline. Get it reordered so the room knows the stakes early, with one saved twist.
How to use it
- Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
- Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
- Paste real notes with names and dates. A case needs a real person or event.
- Tell it who is in the room. The news it moves to the front depends on them.
