What it does

A late invoice puts you in a bind. Chase too hard and you lose a customer who was going to pay anyway. Chase too softly and you become the supplier who gets paid last. Most reminders are either a template with a red stamp or an apology for asking. This workflow chases in three steps. First a warm reminder, in the manner of Robert Collier's letters: it assumes good faith, makes paying easy and gives a reason to do it now. If that brings no payment, it works out what the customer can actually pay from what you know of their situation, and proposes terms they can meet, following Keynes's rule that a demand nobody can pay produces nothing. Then it writes a firmer follow-up that states the consequence plainly and leaves the door open. You send each letter and wait the agreed days before the next.

Steps

  1. Payment reminder letter writer: Paste the invoice facts and your history with the customer. Get a reminder that starts where they are and keeps their goodwill.

How to use it

  1. Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
  2. Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
  3. Paste the invoice facts and your history with the customer. It writes the warm reminder.
  4. Send it. If nothing arrives in the agreed days, paste what you know of their means.
  5. Send the proposed terms. If still nothing, send the firm follow-up.
