What it does
Most sales calls go wrong in the first ten minutes. The seller asks a pile of background questions the buyer finds dull, then starts pitching before the buyer has said what hurts. The buyer nods politely and does nothing. This skill plans the call around four kinds of question. Situation questions cover facts you could not find by research. Problem questions find what is not working. Cost questions show what the problem does to time, money and people. Value questions let the buyer say what a fix is worth, in their words. It also marks where to change the order and removes any question that is really a pitch.
You give it
- What you sell and who the buyer is, with anything you know about their company or role
- What you already researched (optional)
- The person who will be on the call (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- A list of facts to look up first, so you ask few background questions
- Problem, cost and value questions in the order to ask them
- Notes on when to skip ahead or go back
- A check that no question is a pitch in disguise
Use it when
- You have a first call with a buyer and only a page of notes about them.
- Your calls end with "send me a quote" and no real need was found.
- You sell something expensive that several people at the buyer must agree to.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste what you sell and what you know about the buyer. Add anything you found online.
- Say how many meetings you expect and who else may join the decision.
- Print the plan. Use it as a guide on the call, not a script.
- After the call, note which questions got the buyer talking and keep those for next time.
