What it does

Students often get comments such as "needs more detail" and make the same mistake on the next piece. The comment names a symptom, not the cause, and does not say what to do. Marking takes time, and little changes. The steps move from the goal to the comment. First it builds a rubric with one criterion and open columns for evidence, so you and the student read the same target. After you pick the work, it sets the work against the rubric and names what is missing. Then it groups the errors by likely cause, such as a slip or a misunderstanding, and matches each to feedback or teaching. You write your comments from that. The last step checks each comment for how specific it is and rewrites the weak ones.

Steps

  1. Single-point rubric builder: Give it a learning goal. Get a one-criterion rubric with open columns for evidence, ready for feedback or self-assessment.
  2. Student work criteria review: Paste a piece of student work and the criteria. Get exactly what is missing, why, and what feedback to give.
  3. Student mistake analyser: Give it a set of student errors. Get the likely causes and the feedback or teaching that fixes each one.
  4. Written feedback checker: Paste feedback given to learners. Get a check for how specific and useful it is, with better wording.

How to use it

  1. Download the handoff pack. It is a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
  2. Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
  3. Give it the learning goal. Read the rubric and fix the wording before you use it.
  4. Remove the student's name, then paste the work, so it can be marked against the rubric.
  5. Write your comments from the causes, then paste the comments for the last check.
