What it does
Most software prices are a guess made at launch and never touched. One plan does everything, so heavy users pay the same as light ones. The price page lists features nobody understands, and the founder is afraid to change anything because a mistake means lost customers. This workflow sets prices from the product and the people who pay for it. It starts with the revenue model: three to five ways to earn from the product, with the risk of each and the one to build on. It designs the value metric, the thing you charge for that grows as the customer gets more value, and lays out good, better, best tiers around it. It plans the price page so the anchor, the order and the words under each price make the value clear without dark patterns. Then it plans a price test you can undo.
You give it
- What the product does and who pays for it
- Your current plans and prices, if any
- Sign-ups, upgrades and churn by plan for a set period (optional)
- Product facts: costs per customer, usage limits (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
- Your results (optional)
- Your offer (optional)
You get
- A revenue model with the risks of each option and the one to build on
- A value metric and good, better, best tiers with starting prices
- A price page layout with the anchor, order and words under each price
- A price test you can undo, with three outcome cases and the number that decides
