What it does
Most training sessions are a talk, a demo and some unstructured practice that runs out of time. People leave having watched more than they did. John Wooden planned every minute of practice in advance and drilled the basics before anything else, and he said in public that the planning was most of the coaching. This prompt does that planning for any skill. It sets one checkable goal, breaks the skill into three to five basics, and builds short blocks that each say the minutes, the drill, what the coach watches for and the one correction phrase. The thing to fix gets the most repetitions in the middle of the session with a before-and-after check. A live run at real speed comes near the end, then a two-minute close with one thing done well and one thing to practise. You also get a one-card version to hold.
You give it
- The skill, in one line
- The group: how many, level, last mistakes
- Minutes, room and equipment
- The one thing to fix (advised)
You get
- A checkable session goal and the skill broken into basics
- Timed blocks with what to watch for and what to say
- The fix placed for repetitions, a live run, and a close
- A one-card version for the coach
Use it when
- You are training new support agents, sales reps or kitchen staff and have one hour.
- You coach a team and the last session drifted.
- The same mistake keeps happening and you want a session built around fixing it.
How to use it
- Copy the prompt, then paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini with the skill and group under it.
- Give the exact minutes and what went wrong last time.
- Print the COACH'S CARD. Run the session from it, not from the full plan.
- After the session, note what the live run showed and feed it into the next plan.
