What it does
A survey comes back and the numbers look like facts. Forty percent said they found you on social, so the budget moves. Rand Fishkin has pointed out in public for years why that is risky: people name the channel they saw last, the question's options steer them, and the customers who bother to reply are not the ones who left. This prompt scores the survey on four things, each out of 25: who answered and who is missing, how each question is worded, what people typically misremember for each question, and how the answers compare with your analytics or sales. It shows the sum as a trust score out of 100 and what the band means. It sorts each answer into use as is, use as direction or do not use, with a reason, and rewrites the questions and sampling for next time.
You give it
- The questions and answer options, word for word
- How it was sent, to whom, and the response rate
- The results
- What you will decide with it, and any other data on the same question (advised)
You get
- A trust score out of 100 with four scored parts and reasons
- Each wording problem quoted, and the memory effects per question
- Answers sorted into use, direction or discard
- The rewritten survey for next time
Use it when
- A 'how did you hear about us' survey is about to move your marketing budget.
- A customer survey says one thing and your sales data says another.
- You are writing a survey and want to know what will make the answers worthless.
How to use it
- Copy the prompt, then paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini with the questions under it.
- Add how it was sent, who replied, and the results.
- Paste any analytics or sales numbers on the same question.
- Act only on the USE AS IS answers. Send the NEXT TIME version next quarter.
