Hire an AI study abroad advisor

Plan your study abroad applications. Get a reach, target and safety school list, a dated timeline, an essay check and visa questions.

What you give

  • Your level (undergraduate, master's or PhD), your field and your goal after study
  • Your grades and test scores, or the tests you plan to take
  • Your budget per year and the countries you are open to

What you get

  • A summary of your profile with strengths and gaps
  • A school list in reach, target and safety groups, each with why it fits
  • A dated timeline from now to the first day of study
  • A test and profile plan, ranked by what helps most in the time you have

An example

You are a year or two out and want to know which countries and schools fit your grades and budget.

You ask: “Plan your study abroad applications. Use the material I attach and ask for anything essential that is missing.”

You get back:

  • Profile summary. Your level, scores, budget and start date, with strengths and gaps.
  • School list. Reach, target and safety schools, each with why it fits and a chance range marked as an estimate.
  • Timeline. Dated tasks for tests, essays, letters, applications and the visa, working back from deadlines.

An example, not your task.

Details

Everything it can hand back

Your task sets the actual outputs. The specialist picks the methods that cover them.

  • A summary of your profile with strengths and gaps
  • A school list in reach, target and safety groups, each with why it fits
  • A dated timeline from now to the first day of study
  • A test and profile plan, ranked by what helps most in the time you have
  • An essay check with the fixes that matter most
  • A list of visa and move-abroad questions to answer on official sites

How it does the job well

  • Never write the student's essay, or invent or stretch an experience. Coach, point out weak spots, and edit the student's own words. A recommendation letter must be written or backed by the recommender.
  • Never promise or imply a guaranteed offer.
  • Show admission chances as a range, labelled "estimate". If the AI has no current data, write "experience-based judgment, not official data". Never invent an admission statistic, acceptance rate or median score.
  • Mark every cost, deadline, test rule and visa rule "check on the school or official site" unless the user supplied it. If you have web search, cite the page you used and its date.
  • Base people decisions on job-related evidence, applied the same way to everyone.
  • Write in plain, respectful language the person affected could read.
  • Keep personal data to what the task needs, and handle it privately.

Mistakes it avoids

  • Anxiety selling, or saying a school is "safe" without the program's own numbers.
  • Copying the profile's sample figures, case stories or tables as the student's facts.
  • Naming a visa form, fee or interview rule from memory as settled.
  • Biased wording in job ads, reviews or interview questions.
  • Plans with no owner, timing or way to check progress.
  • Treating a template as legal advice.

What a good result looks like

An example, not your task: You are a year or two out and want to know which countries and schools fit your grades and budget.

  • Test and profile plan. Actions ranked by what helps most in the time you have, with time needed.
  • Essay check. The weak points in your draft and the fix for each. It does not rewrite your essay.
  • Visa and move questions. What to ask or look up for each country, and where to find the answer.

How the work is checked

  • Criteria are written down before people are assessed.
  • Every plan has milestones and owners.
  • Sensitive steps are marked for human and legal review.
  • States which checks passed, failed or could not run, and names missing inputs.

These checks have not been run against a model yet. Your AI uses them to check its own work.

Capabilities

  • Read your profile. It sums up your level, scores, experience, goals and budget, and marks what is missing. Gaps are asked once, then marked MISSING.
  • Compare countries. It sets the application systems of your countries side by side, such as program length, cost and work rules after study.
  • Build the school list. It groups schools into reach, target and safety, with the reason for each. It shows chances as ranges, and marks them as estimates.
  • Work back from deadlines. It builds a dated timeline for tests, essays, letters and applications. Dates you did not give are marked to check.
  • Check the essay. If you give a draft, it checks for a clear story, specific detail and a fit with the school. It does not rewrite it for you.
  • Flag what to verify. It lists each cost, deadline and visa rule you must confirm on an official site, and drafts the visa questions.

Tasks you can use it for

  • You are a year or two out and want to know which countries and schools fit your grades and budget.
  • You have a school list in mind and want to know which are reach, target and safety.
  • Deadlines are coming and you need a dated plan for tests, essays and letters from teachers.
  • You have a draft personal statement and want to know if it tells a clear story.

Limits to check before starting

  • You need a decision on a visa or immigration case. Use the official embassy site, or a licensed adviser.
  • You want someone to write your essay. This agent coaches and edits. Your words and your experiences must stay yours.
  • You need today's exact deadlines, fees or entry scores. Look them up on each school's own site and paste them in.
  • You plan to study in a country outside the US, UK, Canada, Australia, mainland Europe, Hong Kong or Singapore. The method still helps, but its country notes will not cover you.

Best way to use this role

Give it one clear outcome, the actual files and a definition of done. Keep the work in one AI project so it can reuse checked context and earlier files.

  • Download the pack and add it to your AI as a skill. If you cannot, paste SKILL.md into a new chat, then paste references/source-agent.md.
  • Paste your grades, test scores, experience, budget and the countries you are open to. Say your start date.
  • Ask for one job first, such as "Build my school list" or "Check my essay". Add the other jobs after.
  • Read the "Facts to verify" list first. Look up each deadline, cost and rule on the school or embassy site, and paste back what you find.
  • Treat the reach, target and safety labels as the AI's estimate. Check them with an official admissions page or a school counselor.
  • Write your own essay. Use the AI only to find weak spots and to polish your own words.
