What it does
Most advice arrives from someone who is paid the same whether or not it works. A seller, a consultant, a friend with a hot tip, a manager with a pet plan. You cannot read their mind, but you can read their position. This skill writes down the advice, then asks what the person loses if they are wrong and what they gain if they are right. It looks for fees on the upside with no share of the downside, checks how long the idea or adviser has lasted, and judges skill and honesty as two separate things. It does not accuse anyone. It tells you how much weight the advice has earned and what to ask next.
You give it
- The advice or pitch, pasted as given
- Who gave it and how they are paid or rewarded, if you know
- What you would do if you follow it
- How long the adviser or the idea has been around (optional)
You get
- What the adviser loses if wrong and gains if right, with the evidence
- Hidden unevenness in fees, rewards or blame
- A trust level with the reason
- One question to put to the adviser
Use it when
- A salesperson, agent or consultant is pushing you toward a purchase or a contract.
- A friend or colleague gives you strong advice about money, hiring or a career move.
- You are about to follow an expert's recommendation and want to know what they stand to lose.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the advice as it was given, then add who gave it and what you know about how they are paid.
- Say what following it would cost you.
- Read the trust level and the missing facts. Ask the closing question before you act.
- If a fact is marked MISSING, find it first and run the skill again.
