What it does
Most plans stop at the first effect. A discount brings more orders, a new rule gets more reports, a faster machine cuts cost. But people react, and their reactions have effects too. Rewards change behaviour, rivals copy, and savings in a crowded market often pass to the buyer. This skill traces three levels. It asks who reacts, what they will do, and what that does in turn. It also tests whether a gain stays with you or flows away, and how the new rule could be gamed. You get a plan that already allows for the reactions.
You give it
- The change you plan, and what you expect it to do
- Who is affected: customers, staff, rivals, suppliers
- The numbers behind your forecast (optional)
You get
- The direct effects, then the reactions, then the effects of those
- A list of how people could game the new rule
- How much of any gain you keep, and how much flows away
- A revised plan that allows for the reactions
Use it when
- You are about to change a price, pay plan, rule or process.
- A forecast is built by extending last year's numbers.
- A saving or improvement looks too good, and you want to know who really keeps it.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Describe the change and who it touches. Paste your forecast if you have one.
- For each reaction it lists, say whether you have seen it happen before.
- Use the revised plan, and set a date to check the reactions it predicted.
Workflows that use it
- Decide whether to drop a rule and trial it safely
- Think a hard decision through with models from many fields
