What it does
A brief can hide its own answer. "Make the app faster" or "write a key message that says we are trusted" may already settle the thing that most needs asking. Teams then spend months on the wrong problem, or fix the product when changing how it feels would have been cheaper. This skill keeps your brief word for word, asks why the job exists and what the person really wants from the change, and lists what could change how it is seen or felt, not only the thing itself. It marks any line in the brief that is a ready-made answer, writes two or three new versions of the question, and gives each a cheap test to try first. It finds the issue under the brief that the team cannot quite solve.
You give it
- The brief, goal or problem as it was written
- Why the work was asked for, if you know
- What has been tried already (optional)
- Your brand file (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- Your brief quoted exactly, with ready-made answers marked
- Two or three new versions of the question, each asking something different
- A cheap change in perception to try first for each version
- The unresolved issue under the brief, and a way to judge the tests
Use it when
- You have a brief and a feeling it asks the wrong question.
- The obvious fix is costly and you want a cheaper thing to try first.
- A team is stuck on a problem that keeps coming back.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the brief exactly as it was written. Do not tidy it.
- Say who asked for it and what they hope will change.
- Pick one or two of the new versions and run the cheap tests.
- Bring back what you learned and ask it to sharpen the next round.
