What it does
Most people save competitor ads into one long folder and never look at it again. With no order, you can't see which kinds of ad a category runs, which ones last, or what an ad of a certain type needs to work. This skill turns that pile into a study board. It looks at each ad itself, not just its text, and files it under one of nine types on the same map the other ad skills here use, such as a product shot, a customer quote, a before-and-after with objects, or an offer. It picks three per type from at least two brands, so one brand's habit isn't mistaken for a pattern. Each ad gets a tier from its start date: new (under 30 days), kept (30 to 89) or long-runner (90 or more). The Ad Library shows no spend or sales for ordinary ads, so the board never…
You give it
- The ads, each with its library ID, advertiser, start date, text and a screenshot (attach the screenshots; your AI can see pictures)
- What you sell, who to, and which competitors matter (recommended)
- Which types to fill, if not all nine (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
- Competitors (optional)
You get
- A board table with type, advertiser, library ID, start date, tier and what to study
- A one-line pattern note for each buyer question
- A list of thin types and ads it couldn't look at
- Any of its own checks the board still misses, each one named
Use it when
- You've saved dozens of competitor ads and want them organised before planning your own.
- You want three good examples of one kind of ad (a customer quote ad, a comparison) before you make one.
- You're new to a category and want a quick picture of what other brands run and keep running.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Open facebook.com/ads/library, pick your country, and search each competitor by name. Don't use scrapers or spy tools.
- For each ad you keep, copy the library ID and the "started running" date, and take a screenshot.
- Paste them in with a line on what you sell and who your competitors are.
- Read the "what to study" column, then open those ads and look at their structure, not their wording.
Workflows that use it

- Turn competitor ads into a script of your own
