What it does
Google can only target a list that is big enough, and it will happily retarget people who already bought and take credit for the sale. Many stores skip the setup, so their remarketing is thin and their cold campaigns pay to reach existing customers. This skill plans the audiences first. It picks a visitor window that fits your traffic, builds the cart abandoner list in GA4 from people who added to cart and did not buy, and sets up customer lists for signal and exclusions. It also defines custom segments built from the searches a buyer would type. The numbers (a 3 to 7 day window, a list of about 1,000 to 1,500 people, and the claim that search-term segments beat site segments) come from one speaker, so treat them as starting points to test.
You give it
- Monthly site visitors and add-to-cart numbers
- Your customer list details (the fields you have, such as email, phone, name, zip and country)
- Competitor sites and the search terms your buyers type (optional)
- Whether you have consent to use customer data in ads
- Spreadsheet (optional)
You get
- A list of audiences to build, with source and window for each
- A customer exclusion plan
- Custom segment definitions
- A note on which lists are too small to use yet
Use it when
- You are about to run remarketing and do not know if your lists are big enough.
- Your cold campaigns might be reaching people who already bought.
- You want custom segments for Demand Gen or YouTube from search terms and competitor sites.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your monthly visitors, add-to-carts and purchases, and say what fields your customer list has.
- Say whether customers agreed to their data being used for ads. Fix that first if they did not.
- Build the lists in GA4 and Google Ads in the order it gives, and wait about a day for lists to fill.
- Check list sizes after a week and drop or merge lists that are too small.
