What it does
A late sample can cost a whole season. In one operations talk, a missed sample date meant missing the peak trade period and holding stock into January or February. A critical path fixes this by making every step visible. You list each step, put them in order, and give each a real duration. Then you count back from your launch date to set a date for every step. The chain with no slack is the one that moves the launch if it slips. Each step gets one owner, and one person owns the whole plan. The supplier reports changes in your chat, and you update the plan, so no one edits dates behind your back.
You give it
- Product type and the date you want it on sale
- Supplier lead times and sample shipping times
- Who owns each step (optional)
- Hard cut-offs, such as holiday shipping dates or warehouse booking windows (optional)
- Spreadsheet (optional)
You get
- A step list in order, each with duration, owner and date
- The latest start date for each step, worked back from launch
- Notes on overlap and slack, and which delay moves the launch
- Alerts to set in your project tool
Use it when
- You are launching a product with a fixed date, such as a holiday peak.
- You have several products in development and lose track of what is late.
- A sample came late last time and you do not want it to happen again.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Give the product, the launch date and each lead time your supplier told you.
- Name who owns each step, and who owns the whole plan.
- Set the alerts in any tool you use, such as a sheet, Notion or Asana.
- Name one person to check the plan every day while the launch is live.
