What it does
Most pages look the way they do because the software offered that margin, that grid and that font size. The result is clean, and it looks like every other page. Readers feel nothing because nothing was decided. This skill starts from the audience and the message. It lists each choice in the layout and marks it as one you made or one a template made. It then guides you to gather real material from your own surroundings, to cut or print the parts and move them by hand until the page makes people feel the subject, and to match the attitude of the page to the attitude of its readers. One accident may stay if it helps. You get three alternatives and a plan to check the message still gets through with two real readers.
You give it
- A page, cover or layout, as a file or description
- Who reads it and what the message is
- The copy (optional)
- A draft (optional)
You get
- A list of layout choices marked as made or inherited
- Three different alternatives with reasons
- A plan for hand-made trials
- A two-reader test plan
Use it when
- Your page, poster, cover or slide looks clean and forgettable.
- You used a template and want to know which choices you never made.
- You want to try a bolder layout without losing the message.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Attach your layout, and say who reads it and what the message is.
- Read the made-or-inherited list and note any choice you never decided.
- Try one alternative by hand with paper, scissors or a rough mock-up.
- Show it to two real readers and ask them what it says.
