What it does
A logo brief and two or three distinct logo directions, each with colors, fonts, file formats and rules for using it. You can hand it to a designer or an image tool and know what to ask for. It begins with your brand name, field, audience, rivals and personality, plus where the logo will appear: a site, an app, packaging or signs. It turns that into a design brief. Then it sketches directions in words, covering a symbol, a wordmark, a combined mark and a small app icon. Each direction is checked against four tests: simple, easy to scale down, memorable and flexible. It ends with the sizes and formats to export.
