What it does
If you work with a New Zealand government agency, this tells you which security rules from the NZISM apply to your system and where you fall short. It uses the real control numbers, not made-up ones, so you can check each answer against the manual. First it fixes the classification of your system, from Unclassified up to Top Secret, and assumes Restricted if you do not say. It then matches controls to your setup and builds a gap table with status, evidence needed and notes. It can also lay out the certification and accreditation steps, write policy documents, and explain supplier duties. Incident answers name the right New Zealand bodies to tell.
You give it
- A description of the system and what it handles
- The classification level, if known (optional)
- Whether you are an agency or a supplier
- Your current controls or policies (optional)
You get
- A gap table by control with status and evidence needed
- The certification pathway with deliverables
- Policy text with control references
- Classification handling guidance
Use it when
- You supply software to a New Zealand agency and need to know which controls reach you.
- Your agency system is heading for certification and you need the steps and paperwork list.
- You are writing a security policy and want it tied to NZISM control numbers.
- A supplier asks what security duties pass down to them.
