What it does
Most stores set a free-shipping threshold from the average order value. That puts the line in the gap between two groups of buyers. Many stores have two peaks: people who buy one item, and people who buy several. A line set from the average gives free shipping to buyers who already spend more, and asks the single-item group to nearly double their spend. So it changes little and costs margin. This skill sorts your orders into value buckets and finds the peaks. It puts one offer just above each peak, within a stretch a buyer will reach. For a hero product it builds a three-tier multipack ladder. It counts the shipping you save in each tier, and shows the profit change per order, so you can check each tier before it goes live.
You give it
- A list or export of order totals and units per order
- Gross margin by product
- Shipping cost per order at one, two and three units
- Your current thresholds and discount tiers
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- A read of your order spread: one peak or two, and where each sits
- A threshold for each peak, set as a small stretch and not a jump
- A multipack ladder with the default option marked
- A choice of dollar off or percent off for each price range, and the profit change per order for each tier
Use it when
- You want to set or fix a free-shipping threshold and don't want to guess from the average.
- You sell one hero product and want a multipack ladder that raises AOV without giving margin away.
- You are about to run a free-shipping offer on a low-priced item and want to see if it loses money.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste or attach your order totals and units per order. A few hundred orders is a good start.
- Paste your margins, your shipping cost at one, two and three units, and your current thresholds.
- Read the peaks first, then the thresholds and ladder. Check each tier with the discount impact checker.
- Test the dollar versus percent choice on your own store before you keep it.
