What it does
If a buyer looks at two sellers and thinks they are the same, they buy the cheaper one. That is what makes something a commodity, and it is a view in the buyer's head, not a fact about your work. Two businesses can do the same work, and one still looks unlike anything else. This skill tests the view. It lists what a buyer sees next to you, marks each row as same or different, and counts only the differences a buyer could spot in under half a minute. Then it works out what a price war would cost you in margin. It ends with the one row where a change would break the comparison, with a lean toward the rows rivals rarely touch: speed, effort asked of the buyer and risk.
