What it does
A sample that looks fine on the table can still be wrong: a different gray, a lighter fabric, a smaller size. Once bulk is made, the only fix is a refund or a rework. Founders in the sources lost money by moving a whole order to a cheaper factory, or by letting a production sample drift from the one they approved. This skill holds each sample to your tech pack, one line at a time. It knows three stages: a small test for materials and prints, a pre-production sample that becomes your gold standard, and a production sample built just before the run. It tells you what to fix before the next stage, whether to go or hold, and which sample to keep in two places. After a supplier change, it sets a 90 day watch on returns, because savings show at once and returns show up a quarter later.
You give it
- Your tech pack
- Photos, measures, weights and color codes from the sample
- The stage: strike-off, pre-production, production, or test batch
- The defect and return rate on your current supplier (optional)
- Spreadsheet (optional)
You get
- A pass or fail for every line of the tech pack
- A score out of 100 and how it was worked out
- What to fix before the next stage, and a go or hold on bulk
- Which sample to keep as the gold standard, a test batch plan and a 90 day return watch
Use it when
- A factory sent a sample and you need to decide if it can go to the next stage.
- A cheaper supplier looks good on paper and you want to test it without risking your stock.
- Bulk is about to start and you want to confirm the production sample matches the gold standard.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste or attach your tech pack and say which stage this sample is.
- Measure the sample against the pack and attach photos. List weights and color codes.
- Read the fails, send the fixes to the factory, and ask for a new sample if any critical line failed.
- Log the result, then keep one approved sample at home and send one to the factory.
