What it does
Many drafts have the right scenes in the wrong order. The writer tells the story as it happened, so the reader learns everything at once or too early, and the ending has less to do. Changing the order changes what the reader knows at each point, so it changes how they feel. This skill breaks the draft into scenes and writes the true time order. It picks whose seat the reader sits in and arranges scenes to match what that person knows. It splits the story into two or three strands that rise together. Then it runs a logic check: put the new order back into time order and confirm every cause comes before its effect. It ends by checking that the plot is clear and the meaning stays open.
You give it
- Your draft, story, talk or outline
- What you want the reader to feel or understand (optional)
- Scenes that cannot move (optional)
- Length or form (optional)
You get
- A numbered list of scenes with a line on each
- The true order and a proposed new order, each with a reason
- A logic check with every break listed
- A plain line saying what happens, and what is left open
Use it when
- Your story or talk has good scenes but the middle drags or the ending lands flat.
- You want the reader to share a character's confusion or discovery.
- Your case study tells everything in date order and loses people.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the whole draft, in the order it is now.
- Say who the reader should feel closest to.
- Say any scenes that cannot move.
- Read the new order aloud once, then read the true order. Compare what you feel.
