What it does

A scene list can look full and still be dead. Scenes happen, people talk, and the situation at the end is the same as at the start. The reader feels the story is walking in place. This skill goes through the list scene by scene. For each it writes what changes, in one line, and the choice a character makes that causes the change. It checks that the choice costs the character something, since a choice with no price shows nothing about who they are. It checks that every set-up has a pay-off later, and every pay-off has a set-up. Scenes where nothing turns are flagged, and each gets a fix: cut it, merge it or sharpen the turn. It gives a score for the share of scenes that pass.
