What it does
How much to buy from each supplier to get the lowest total cost, within their limits and your demand. It replaces guessing with a worked allocation. Give it quotes, capacity limits and the quantity you need. The skill covers order sizing with economic order quantity, including price breaks at higher volumes, and splits orders across suppliers with an optimisation model. It handles harder cases too, such as ordering several items together, planning lot sizes over several periods, and balancing risk with a dual-sourcing split. Python code does the maths, and the supply risk measures keep you from relying on one source.
You give it
- Supplier quotes and price breaks
- Supplier capacity limits
- Demand quantity and timing
- Holding and ordering costs (optional)
You get
- Order quantities per supplier
- An optimal order size
- Total cost comparison
- A dual-sourcing split
- The Python code used
Use it when
- Two suppliers offer different prices and limits and you must split a big order.
- A volume discount makes it unclear how much to order at once.
- You order many items from the same supplier and want to combine them.
- You want a second source without paying too much for it.
How to use it
- Add it to your AI once: download it and add the folder to Claude, ChatGPT or Codex as a skill.
- Ask for the job in your own words. Your AI opens the skill when it fits.
- It works best when your AI can run code (Python).
