What it does

A writing habit usually fails in the second or third week, and nobody notices until it is over. The log is there to show it early. The numbers are simple: how many days you hit your count, how many words you wrote, and what pace that gives you. They tell you if you will finish and when. This skill reads the log against the plan. It counts days hit and missed, works out your average on the days you wrote, and projects the date you will finish at that pace. It looks for a pattern in the missed days: the same weekday, a late start, a day after a short day. Then it gives one change and a plain call on the count: keep it, lower it or raise it. The score is the share of planned days you hit, so you can see it move from week to week.
